Awning Installation Melbourne — From $250

An awning lifts a house. It cuts summer glare off west-facing windows, keeps the deck usable when the southerly turns wet, and adds the kind of street appeal that lets a place sell for more.

We install fixed, retractable and folding-arm awnings across west Melbourne homes. Request a callback below and we'll talk you through the right style for your wall, your aspect and your budget.

What's Included

We work with all the common brands sold by Bunnings, Spotlight and specialist shade retailers — Eclipse Outdoor, Aussie Awnings, and Coolaroo all install fine with the right hardware.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an awning install take?

A fixed window awning usually takes 60–90 minutes. A folding-arm awning takes 2–3 hours including the structural check and functional test. Motorised units add an extra 30 minutes for the calibration.

Do I need council approval for an awning?

For a standard residential awning under the eave line you typically don't need a permit. If you're attaching to a heritage-listed home or you're in a body-corp townhouse, ask the council or your owners corporation first. We can advise based on what we see at the measure.

Will the awning damage my wall?

Done properly, no. We use the right anchors for the wall type — chemset for brick, lag screws into studs for weatherboard, with backing plates for render. Bad installs damage walls; ours don't.

Can you fit an awning over an existing pergola?

Often yes — a drop-arm or retractable awning can attach to the pergola fascia rather than the house wall. We'd check the pergola's posts can handle the wind load.

What if it rains during install?

We reschedule. Drilling into a wet wall risks damp ingress later. We'd rather come back the next dry day than rush a wet install.
