About Services Victoria
Services Victoria is west Melbourne's curated tradie marketplace. We're not the tradie — we're the quality filter between you and a hand-picked network of 5-star locals across 20 suburbs.
The pitch is simple: every tradie listed on this platform has been vetted by us before they ever talk to you. You skip the Airtasker game of comparing 12 quotes from 12 strangers, the Hipages mystery of "who actually shows up", the Facebook-group lottery of recommendations from people you've never met.
What we do
Three things, in this order:
- We filter. Every tradie applying to join the platform goes through a 6-point vetting check before we list them. Details on the vetting process page.
- We match. When you submit a job through the form on this site, we match you to the highest-rated, fastest-responding, properly-insured tradie in the right suburb for your trade — within the hour during business hours.
- We stand behind the match. If the tradie doesn't deliver, we re-match at no cost and chase down the original on your behalf. Details on the match promise page.
What we don't do
- We don't do the work. The matched tradie does. We never turn up with a lawn mower or a ladder — we connect you with someone who does.
- We don't take 30% of the job. We're not Airtasker. Tradies pay us a fixed monthly platform fee, not a per-job cut, so your quote isn't padded.
- We don't list anyone with $79 and a phone. That's how the big directories work. We say no a lot.
Why we exist
Tradie directories have a quality problem. Anyone with an ABN can list. The customer ends up filtering — chasing references, comparing insurance certificates, decoding 2-star reviews — and usually ends up settling for the first one who responds.
We do that filtering once, properly, so 20,000 west-Melbourne residents don't each have to repeat it. The math works because vetting one tradie well is worth it across the 50-200 jobs they'll do through us instead of 50 customers each doing half-arsed vetting separately.

- 30 home services — lawn mowing, gardening, handyman, gutter work, possum removal, tree pruning, window cleaning, pressure washing, and around 22 others.
- 6 B2B services — for landlords, real estate agencies and owners corporations.
- 20 west-Melbourne suburbs — Maribyrnong, Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Wyndham and Moonee Valley councils.

Who's behind Services Victoria
Charlie's Services is the trading entity. ABN 62 688 328 918. Based in west Melbourne. The platform is run by a small team of locals who know the area — we drove these streets before we built the platform.
The platform itself is ABN-registered and operates as an introducer / service-aggregator under Australian Consumer Law. The actual tradies you'll work with carry their own ABNs, their own insurance, and their own workmanship guarantees — those are documented on each tradie's profile before you book.
Why "Services Victoria" if you only cover west Melbourne?
Because the customer base is growing. The brand is built to cover greater Melbourne and then regional Victoria over the next 24 months, suburb by suburb (one wave every 2-4 weeks). For now we hold the west-Melbourne corridor because we vetted it depth-first instead of breadth-first.

How to join the platform (tradies)
We're always vetting new tradies — but slowly. If you've got a real ABN, real insurance, a real Google rating ≥4.5★, and a real photo portfolio of recent work, apply via the for tradies page.
We say no to about 60% of applications. Most of them go to Airtasker or Hipages where there's no filter.
